We act united for a more just and prosperous future for all
AWL's organisational structure:
AWL is a global Empowering Women and Equality effort Everywhere, including social, political, and economic spheres. In order to ensure the best possible results in its work, AWL’s structure is decentralised and based on the principle of worldwide mobility. Hierarchies are flat and decisions are implemented timely. AWL’s Headquarters is located in Sweden, Europe. Alongside the Focal points in Africa and the United States, it has a leading role in steering the organisation. There are 20 field-and project offices under the coordination of Regional Offices across AWL’s five priority regions. AWL has over 1000 women Members, Diaspora and National NGOs which form a Steering Group that exercises general supervision of AWL, approves strategic decisions and appoints the Director General for a period of 5 years. Decisions are taken based on the majority principle.
